1. How far in advance should I place my order?
Due to the amount of orders we handle daily along with the complexity of some of our designs, we ask that you place all specialty cake orders with at least two weeks notice and all wedding cake orders with at least two to six months notice. We will do our best to accommodate your order, but cannot guarantee availability.
2. Do you offer cake tastings or pick ups?
Yes. Each tasting/design consultation is subject to a $40.00 fee. This price includes up to six cake flavors and eight choices of fillings or more. Pick ups are available starting at $30.00. Please allow a 24-48 hr notice for pick ups.
3. How many people can I bring?
We can accommodate up to four guests at our cake boutique with advance notice. We do though prefer a more intimate brainstorming session with our clients which allows for an ultimate creative experience.
4. Is there a consultation fee?
Yes, we require a fee of $40 for each tasting/design session. This allows us to prepare a variety of flavors and fillings suited to your liking.
5. What is your cancellation policy for the cake tasting/ design consultation?
We require a 48 hour in advance notice. This is due to the fact that every session is tailored to your liking and/or needs.
6. Do you require a retainer fee?
Yes. We require a 50% retainer fee along with a signed contract. This is to reserve your date of event and is non-refundable since we only accept a limited number of cakes per week/weekend. E-mail and phone call do not constitute an agreement on our part unless both a signed contract and 50% retainer fee have been provided and signed by both the client and KBK's owner.
7. Do we get to save the top layer of our cake for our anniversary?
Since we absolutely love freshness in our cakes, we offer each of our couples a complimentary (completely free of charge) wedding anniversary cake, decorated in a basic decor of our choice. Your anniversary cake is nowhere hidden in the total cost of your cake...it is complimentary :-).
We do ask that you call or e-mail us no later than two weeks prior to your one year anniversary, so that we may be able to fit in your request within our busy schedule.
Due to the nature of all of our products, we are unable to ship cakes in or out of state. Our courier service will not guarantee that it will arrive to you in pristine condition. Nevertheless, we will work with you on the best pick up time for both of us and we will honor future pick ups for "out of state" customers, pending we are still in business and you are able to pick up from our studio. Pick up is from our studio only. Sorry, no deliveries available for these, unless scheduled as a paid delivery.
8. Do you have cake stands available for rent?
Yes. Please call us to inquire about the availability, pricing, and options. These stands are available as an option to your cake order. In the event that the stand is lost, damaged, or stolen, you will be subject to the retail value of the cake stand.
9. When is my balance for my cake due?
All balances are due no later than 14 days (two weeks) prior to delivery date.
10. Do you ship cakes?
No, our cakes are quite delicate and are made for local destinations.
11. What are your prices?
In general our pricing ranges from $8.000 - $20.00 per serving. Pricing is based on the complexity of design and the number of people being served. Because of the care we give to each order, we have a minimum charge of $120.00 plus delivery on 6" single tier special occasion cakes (excluding wedding and sculpted cakes) and $550.00 plus delivery, on all wedding tier cakes regardless of guest count.
12. Can you replicate this cake design I found in a magazine?
Yes, for the most part if it is not licensed protected, not copyrighted. Please bring a photo/image of the design to your tasting/design consultation. For additional information on our designs, please read all information on our "Pricing" page.
13. Do you do character cakes?
No. Due to the various copyright laws regarding characters, we are not able to replicate nor render at this time.
14. Where do you deliver?
All locations within the Naples area are subject to a delivery charge of $50. Areas outside of Naples such as: Marco Island, Bonita Springs, Estero, Ft. Myers, Cape Coral, Sanibel, and Captiva are subject to an additional fee of up to $150.00. Please call our office for a more accurate quote.
15. What do I bring to my consultation?
A sampling of ideas such as fabric and/or color swatches. Make sure you discuss and/or bring an image of your cake topper to ensure that the size of cake is suitable. *We will try our best to match any colors on your cake to those of your swatch provided, but make no guarantees, as colors available to dye icing are different than those available in fabric or paint swatches.
16. Do you make fake or styrofoam covered cakes?
Yes. We have various sizes available, please contact us for more info. Note: We only make these for those events ordering cakes from our studio. In some instances (when an event has a large amount of guests), we may suggest the use of these, to assist your reception site in expediting the cutting and serving process.
